Learn from assignments!!

I have learn a lot throughout the course of the ENC 1102 and we also had to do a lot of assignment and essays, but finally the last assignment we got to choose of any actual issues that were occurring in the world and we also had to choose two more classmates to do this final assignment as a group. We choose Teenager Depression. This has been an important issue all over the world. Doing this essay as the final assignment I did a lot of research and find out how this issue has transformed into teen suicide, this has become the 2nd leading cause for college students in the US. I also did research in the rates and statistics of teenager that have reported feeling depress. In the essay a had to appeal to the readers logic and give some fact of why this has become a social issue in the US. We also had to look for possibles solution for this social problem in the US, supply brochures, flyer, have accessible counselors for students. I had so much fun preparing myself for the oral presentation that we had to do for class; presenting the issue, appealing to the public logic, emotions, and ethics and giving solutions for this issue. It was hard trying to persuade our audience and convincing them to apprehend this issue.

It's Christmas... hold your mouth!!!

It has caught my attention that obesity has become a common issue in the US and Puerto Rico. Now we are approaching the Christmas season and is the time were people can't hold their mouth because is the season were people have been waiting to break their diets. In this time every family has their dinner fest and many choices for dessert without knowing how many calories and fat their are adding to their body, causing high blood pressure, obesity, heart strokes, etc. People most be concern and be aware of what they have for their Christmas dinner, and they should be wise in choosing their food and dessert, specially dessert. Parent must take care of children and watch they diet, try to give them healthy food and not let them have to many candies or dessert. Obesity has become a great problem in the US and PR and people don't want to give that many importance to this healthy life issue. Please be concern of what you put on your mouth and of what you give to the children for they are Innocent and ignorants of the consequence. Save them from becoming obese or from becoming part of the heart stroke statistics. I exhort you to please hold you mouth for Christmas!!!

What??? No Mexicans

A movie that is fictitious and confusing... a "Day without a Mexican". This is a movie that really make you think and reflect about what could happen if all the illegal or Latin people, meaning non-Americans, disappeared from the face of the Earth. That would be cool!! On this movie you will notice how the author is trying to debate the government of making wrong decision toward illegal immigration, and he is showing us how could California be if their were no Mexicans, Latins or any immigrant with a Latin background. He wants to make the public think about this issue of illegalizing the entry of Mexicans to our country. His purpose is clearly stated for the government, to make them realize what if the Mexican weren't here and what we would have to deal with to make it a better place to live. If the immigrant are the one that are really working for what they want. We should be like them and work to accomplish things in life. And who would do the dirty work if they were no Mexicans in the State. The author of the movie is trying to deliver this message to the government, the message of what would happen if the Mexicans wouldn't exist on the US. And he is delivering this message through real fact about how many Hispanic people work around the US. He is appealing more to Logos than Pathos" because he is bringing up fact that most of the worker in the agriculture areas they are Hispanic. And Pathos because he is making the movie emotional for the lost of family member from Mexico or with a Hispanic background, the lost of children, husband, etc. leaving their wife alone or separating them from their kids. At first the movie didn't seem trustworthy at the beginning of it I tough that the director of the movie was crazy or under the influence while he was making the video. I never tough that he would include actual fact of working Hispanic in the US. Would we actually become more efficient if the Hispanic population didn't exist?? That what the author make me think and, What if???? This movie got me thinking of what could happen if the Mexican would disappear. Would we become a chaos or will we have a mental chaos?? Would we really need to do all the dirty work?? Cleaning, painting, agriculture, or simply pick up the garbage. Or, would it be better and we would have more opportunities of employment for the American Nation. But, What if the Americans disappear?? How would the world be without the Americans??? HUH!!!!

The birth of Fidel

Its cool how Fidel Castro stud up for his people in Cuba and how he knew the story of Cuba. In a video that I saw of Fidel Castro they show how Fidel Castro grew in his country as a lawyer and defender of the people in Cuba, and we also see how he got a few people prepared for a revolution in Cuba for the 26 of july, in Moncado. They call this day M-26-7, the day that Fidel Castro gain control of Cuba and free them from the communist. But the first time they try to attack and take down the govement it didn't went so well, most of the revolusionist die by the army's bulets, that day. Through this video Fidel is hiding from the govement becaus if he gets caught they would have kill him in the fist place, and during that hiding time he try to get money for his wife and child. He was shown in the movie as a caryng father and responsible for his family, he did everything he could to take care of his family. And that is honorble from him and a great role model to follow. Fidel Castro regroup for his next attack and he finally won the battle. That was really cool of him to take care for those Cuban that didn't have enough money to take care of their families and medical conditions. He belief that everyone should be equal with the same benefits as any rich person.

Puertorrican kiss for equality...?

On October 6, 2007. A gay manisfestation. Puerto Rico was going through some social issues specially with the homosexuals, gay community. Where the gay community wanted to be heard and let the legislators know that love could be expressed in any way. Love has no boundaries nor limits. Love is a wounderful feeling and could be expressed toward anyone, including people from the same gender. The homosexuals want the approvement of the new civil code, so that people of the same gender could be together and get married. They want to be left alone, they don't want people to discriminate them by who they are dating. Homosexuals also want to pass a law stating that it is illegal to discriminate against them. They tried to send a message at the Capitol to the puertorrican society, that they are not going to keep silent and they want something to be done about it. I really think this is absurd and that they shoudn't have those rights cause God created us as Women or Men, but not in between. They can have the men's right or women's right but not both. Homosexual, they are really lost about what they want in life and they are confusing their feeling toward a sex partner. Their confuse people that need the holy spirit, Jesus, God and everyone in heaven to get the devil out of them...the world is relly mess up!! We need to walk in a straight line, not zig zagging. The church community is not going to stay speachless, they are already working agaist this law or get to a happy medium. Choose a side!!! What side you are on??

Real life jokes!!

Carlos Mencia’s standup comedy is addressed to parents that have kids with A.D.D. and how the education standards are lowering for kids with learning problems (retards). I personally don’t like the way he is exposing this issues but he is right on the things he is exposing: Kids with A.D.D. shouldn’t have an excuse to not learn or pass a grade because their parents talk to the teacher. We were born alone and we are to be successful in life by our own. Look at me!! I have passed every grade with no excuses, yeah, with a lot of struggle but I have been successful and willing to achieve my goals. Years ago teachers use to be passionate for teaching and disciplining students but because of the law they don’t do that anymore they could be sent to jail for applying to much discipline and education. Back in PR students don’t have respect for the teachers and education. This is something we should seriously consider, because this is our future, without education we can’t achieve the things we want in our life, our goals. I did laugh my butt off but some things he said and did weren’t so funny, I have a family member with mental problems and he was rude in the way he was expressing as a retard in that part I did felt offended. But then again this is why its call comedy.

What about Miss Teen S.C.?

Miss Teen from South California made a huge mistake on her question at the Miss Teen contest. Because she didn't really know what tha hell she was answering...that's why people say that we are considered the "idiot nation" and we only care about Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears. We are constantly surrounded by the media and its difficult to realize the influence the media has in our way of living. I really think that its changing my life style, because I am changing my way of acting arround people, trying to be like others. We, humans, try to do the same things that we see on the media. The way they send their message through TV, radio, etc. This is affecting our behavior and our decicions toward life. We are a visual generation trying to do and learn what we see, we try to imitate others.
